2 more Tejturi Bazar burn victims die

Two more people, who suffered serious burn injuries in a fire incident at a hardware shop in the city’s Tejturi Bazar on Thursday afternoon, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Friday, raising the death toll from the incident to three. Hospital sources said Ibrahim Khalil, an employee of the shop and son of Saidul Haq of Noakhali, succumbed to his injuries around 12:55 pm while another employee Shafiul Azam died around 1.25 pm. Shafiul hailed from Kaliganj of Jhenidah district. Earlier, another burn victim, van driver Abdul Latif, 55, who was admitted to the Burn unit of the hospital with 96 per cent burn injuries, succumbed to his injuries around 1 am on Friday. Eleven people were injured, four critically, as a fire broke out in a hardware shop at the city’s Tejturi Bazar on Thursday afternoon. The injured were admitted to DMCH. Among the injured, the condition of Abdul Latif, Ibrahim Khalil, Shafiul Azam and Motaleb was stated to be critical, according to UNB.
