2 \\\'pirates\\\' killed in Noakhali \\\'encounter\\\'

NOAKHALI, Apr 5: Two more 'pirates' were killed in an 'encounter' with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Noakhali's Companyganj Saturday. RAB says those killed were 'outlaws' of the 'Jasu gang'. Shahadat Hossain Jasu was killed in a similar encounter with RAB on Thursday. Maj Shahed of RAB-11 said the gang's second-in-command 'Jabed', 28 and Jasu's bodyguard 'Sumon', 26 were killed in the encounter at Charkhali Ghat under Companyganj Upazila. RAB claimed to have recovered a 'huge cache' of firearms from the spot. It said the raids in various areas of Companyganj and Sandwip began on Monday to nab 'pirates' operating in the areas. —bdnews24.com
