2 robbers held in Jhenidah

Police arrested two alleged robbers while taking preparation to commit robbery in Belemath area of sadar upazila of Jhenidah district on early Thursday. The arrestees were identified as Mohidul Islam, 30, of Gopalpur village, and Motiar Rahman, son of Mahtab Uddin of Durgapur village in sadar upazila. ASP (Sadar circle) Gopinath Kangilal said a gang of robbers was cutting trees as a preparation to commit robbery by blocking the road in Belemath area in the early morning. Being informed, police conducted a drive in the area and arrested the two robbers while their other associates managed to flee, according to a news agency.
