2 robbers held with bombs, weapons

Police arrested two alleged robbers in possession of four crude bombs and six sharp weapons at Arabpur in Jessore town on Tuesday. The arrested are Arif Hossain, 32, son of late Mofayel Hossain of Shashthitala PTI Road of the town, and Shakil Hossain, 30, son of Humayun Kabir, a resident of Daulatdihi village in Jessore Sadar Upazila. A patrol team of Jessore Kotwali police challenged a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Arabpur at dead of night. At one stage, the auto-rickshaw tried to flee away. The law enforcers chased off the auto-rickshaw and arrested two robbers from it. Police recovered four crude bombs and six sharp weapons from the auto-rickshaw, according to a news agency.
