2 schoolgirls among 3 killed in Ctg crash

At least three people, including two schoolgirls, were killed in a road accident in Sitakunda upazila in Chittagong district on Monday morning. The deceased were identified as Jahangir Alam Babul, 40, his daughter Ananya, 10, and Raujatul Jannat, 9, students of class III of Shishu Niketan School near Hafiz Jute Mills in the upazila. Syed Zakir, officer in-charge of Barulia highway police, said the accident took place when a Chittagong-bound truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw from behind in Sonaichhari area on Dhaka-Chittagong highway around 10:30am, leaving Ananya dead on the spot and injuring two others. Both injured Babul and Raujatul Jannat succumbed to their injuries on their way to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, according to UNB.
