2 Shibir leaders arrested

Police have arrested two leaders of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, from Monsuria Madrasa in Trimohini area in Kanaighat Upazila in Sylhet. The arrestees were identified as Rashid Ahmed, 26, president of Kanaighat Upazila unit Shibir, and Jubayer Ahmed, 24, president of the organisation’s Kanaighat Degree College unit. Acting on secret information, police conducted a drive and arrested. Rashid was sent to the court on Thursday after the arrest, according to UNB.
