2 shops torched in Bagerhat

Miscreants set fire to two shops of two freedom fighters at Phultala Bazar in Kachua upazila early Friday. Locals said a group of miscreants set fire to a grocery shop of freedom fighter Mahmud Hossain by pouring petrol at about 2:00 am. Later they also set fire to a fertiliser and pesticide shop of another freedom fighter Matier Rahman 8-10 feet away from Mahmud’s grocery shop at the same time. When connected, Mahmud Hossain said the arson attack on his shop had been committed in a planned way. Noticing fire, local people rushed in and doused the flame after sometime. Mohammad Abu Jihad Fakhrul Alam Khan, officer-in-charge of Kachua Police Station, said necessary steps will be taken against those involved in the incident and police are looking into the matter, according to UNB.
