Two people, including a Jubo League activist, sustained injuries in separate incidents of gun attack by miscreants in the city’s Motijheel and Segunbagicha areas Friday night.
The injured were identified as Rajibur Rahman Rajib, 27, a Jubo League activist and son of Anisur Rahman of Fakirerpool, and M Habib, 25, a grocery shop employee and son of M Hashem of Segunbagicha.
Sources at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) said a group of miscreants, numbering 7-8, swooped on Rajib in front of Motijheel T&T Colony gate at about 7pm and fired bullets at him, leaving him injured.
With bullet injuries to a thigh, Rajib was rushed to the DMCH.
Rajib claimed himself as the supporter of slain Jubo League leader Riazul Haque Khan Milky and alleged that supporters of slain HM Zahid Siddique alias Tarek attacked him.
On the other hand, the grocery shop employee, Habib, came under the attack by a group of miscreants, numbering 2-3, while he was at his shop at about 8:15 pm.
The miscreants fired bullets at the belly of Habib, leaving him injured critically, according to a news agency.
