2 siblings get life, 3 get 2 yrs’ jail for murder in Pabna

PABNA, Mar 31: Two brothers were awarded life term imprisonment while three brothers were awarded two years imprisonment in a murder charge in Ishwardi of Pabna. The verdict was pronounced in a crowded court room here on Sunday.
Additional district judge Munshi Md. Moshiar Rahman pronounced the verdict according to court sources.
The convicts Md. Monsur Ali, Md. Mojibar Rahman, Md. Ajibar Rahman, Ronju Hossain and Shahin Ali, all sons of Mostab Ali of village Bharoimari in Ishwardi upazila were taken to jail from the court room. Of them Monsur and Mojibar were awarded life term imprisonment while the rest three were convicted two years rigorous imprisonment each and also fined Tk. 5 thousand from each of them.
According to the case file Monsur and Mojibar hacked Shainur Rahman Dablu, son of Shahdat Ali of village Bharoimari in Ishwardi Upazila on September, 7, 1994. Three brothers assisted them according to court sources.
Later, brother of the victim filed a case accusing five brothers on a murder charge while the police submitted the charge sheet accusing them on November, 3 in 1994. After examining witnesses and evidences the judge pronounced the verdict on Sunday afternoon in a crowded court room.
