2 siblings to walk gallows for murder

SATKHIRA, May 25 (UNB): A tribunal here on Sunday convicted a man along with his brother of killing his wife in 2005 and sentenced them to death.
The condemned convicts are Sohrab Hossain, 38, and his younger brother Saheb Ali, 32, sons of Maula Bakhs Sardar of Haraddah village in Sadar upazila.
The court also fined them Tk 5,000 each.
According to the prosecution, Sohrab Hossain had married Afroza Khatun, daughter of Manik Sardar of the village, in 1999. But since then, he used to torture her for dowry.
On January 31, 2005, Sohrab along with his family members beat Afroza mercilessly and strangulated her to death over the issue.
