2 upazila polls candidates fined in Comilla

Two upazila polls candidates have been fined in Burichang upazila of Comilla district for violating the electoral code of conduct. A mobile court, led by Executive Magistrate Rabeya Basri, slapped a fine of Tk 15,000 on an upazila chairman candidate and Tk 5,000 on a vice-chairman candidate on Saturday afternoon. The candidates are the ruling Awami League-backed chairman candidate Sajjad Hossain, and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami-backed vice-chairman contender Saiful Alam. The upazila will go to polls on March 15, according to UNB.
