2 vehicles seized, cases filed against 36 others

Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) and traffic police in their continued drive seized two vehicles and filed cases against 36 others Thursday in the capital.
 "The BRTA authorities filed seven cases for lack of fitness, 13 for not having driving licences and 16 for other vehicle-related matters and realised fines worth Tk 31,800," according to the Traffic Control Room.
A bus and a motorcycle were seized for not having fitness certificate and driving licence respectively.
The drive which started on November 10 last will continue, it said.
As a result of the ongoing drive the sufferings of the city commuters knew no bounds due to scarcity of public transports on the day.
Hundreds of office-goers and many others were seen waiting for long at different points in the city for vehicles.
The scenario was common at almost all the bus stations, throughout the day.
