2 wild elephants found dead in Rangamati

Two wild elephants were found dead at the foot of a hill in Kaptai Sadar upazila in Rangamati district. Divisional forest officer of Parbataya Chattagram (South) forest department M Salah Uddin said locals found the corpses of the two elephants under Jibtali hill on Wednesday morning and informed them. Later, the forest department officials recovered the corpses of the two elephants, believed to have died after falling off the hill. Evidences were sent to Chittagong laboratory for test after examining the elephants by veterinary physician of the forest department. The cause of death of the two elephants could be confirmed upon receipt of the report, said Md Salah Uddin, according to a news agency.
