20 cattle markets for Khulna planned

KHULNA, Nov 8: Twenty cattle markets are being set up in Khulna district including one in Khulna city on the eve of Eid-Ul-Azha.
Khulna City Corporation Market super Salimur Rahman said that the city's cattle market for sacrificial animal has been set up at Joraget kitchen market as before. KCC has called a tender for leasing the only cattle market of the city Sunday. The hat will be opened very shortly. He also said that the hat of sacrificial animals has not been set up anywhere except Joraget kitchen market.
Special Branch of Khulna Metropolitan Police said that adequate security measures have been taken for safe movement of the animals by both the buyers and sellers. Besides, law enforcing agencies will remain alert to resist snatching and toll collection.
Additional Police Super Molla Jahangir Hossain informed that 19 cattle markets will be set up in nine upazila of the district, of them two markets in Rupsha Upazila, two in Digholia, one in Batiaghata, one in Terokhada, one in Fultala, three in Dumuria, two in Dacop, four in Paikgacha and three in Koyra Upazila.
He also said that in every hat there will be a Sub-Inspector and four other uniformed constables with two other plain dressed constables for maintaining safety and security.
