20 houses gutted

At least 20 houses were gutted when a fire that broke out at a labour colony in Gazipur city corporation area on Thursday afternoon. The fire broke out at a tinshed house and flare up within a moment, said Shaheen Alam, fire station officer of Gazipur. ‘Local people doused the blaze,’ the fire service official said, adding that the fire originated from an electric short-circuit, according to a news agency.
