20 injured in BCL factional clash

JESSORE, Mar 14: At least 20 leaders and activists of Awami League backed Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were injured in a factional clash in the district town Saturday night.
Tension mounted in the town following the gunfight between two groups of BCL, sources said.
They engaged in clashes at around 8:00 pm while voting for office bearers of district unit council of BCL was going on.
Both the groups traded gun shots and exploded bombs during the clash.
The injured were identified as BCL activists Faruq, Saju and Joy. Of them Juba league activist Milon received bullet wounds.
Two panels supported by Jessore district unit AL president Ali Reza Raju and general secretary Shahin Chaklader led by Lutful Kabir Biju and Faisal Khan and the opponent panel led by Mohiuddin Ahmed, Mahmudul Hasan Sweet and Halim Biswas, supported by lawmaker Khaledur Rahman Tito were being contested for office bearers.
