20 km tailback on highway

A 20-kilometre (km) tailback has been created on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur district, inflicting immeasurable sufferings on home-bound people ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. Witnesses said the tailback was created on the road from Shafipur in the upazila to Mirzapur upazila of Tangail district because of the flow of the cattle-laden trucks on the highway following the torrential rain of the last two days, leaving several thousand vehicles stranded. Vehicles were seen moving bumper-to-bumper on the highway, according to a news agency.
