20 more die, 1335 positive

Twenty more people died from coronavirus on Tuesday with the government reporting 1,335 new Covid-19 cases during the past 24-hour reporting period.
With the latest figures, the number of total fatalities from coronavirus disease has reached 5,838 since the case was first detected in Bangladesh last March.
Of the latest deaths, 14 are males and six females, according to a press release used by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
A total of 12,617 samples were tested in the reporting period while 12,386 samples were collected across the country during the period, it said.
The rates of both fatalities and detections from the disease remained almost static at 1.45 per cent and 10.58 per cent respectively.
A total of 1,523 people have recovered from the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, it mentioned.
However, the rate of recovery from Covid-19 was recorded at 79.22 per cent, the DGHS release mentioned.
According to the official data, 4,02,586 people have so far been infected with Covid-19 in Bangladesh and 3,18,123 of them recovered from the deadly disease.
