20-party alliance to break up and BNP to vanish: Maya
Monday, 22 June 2015
The 20-party alliance will not only break down, but also the existence of BNP will disappear, general secretary of Dhaka City Awami League Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya observed, reports BSS.
Maya, also the Relief and Disaster Management Minister, said, "People do not want the existence of any terrorist-like parties in 20-party alliance in the country. There will be no existence of BNP and its alliance," and said.
The comments came after BNP leader Khandakar Mahbub Hossain's claim on Saturday that the 20-party alliance will never break up.
Maya was speaking at an extended meeting of Dhaka City Awami League held at Bangabandhu Avenue.
He said no national election will be held in the country before 2019. "It doesn't matter whatever conspiracy and anarchy are committed by BNP-Jamaat, the next election will be held under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," he said.
Acting President of Dhaka City Awami League M A Aziz presided over the meeting while Food Minister and Dhaka City Awami League Joint General Secretary Advocate Quamrul Islam spoke as the special guest.
Quamrul Islam said BNP has shown political bankruptcy by committing terrorist acts in the country. "For their wrong politics, they (BNP) will disappear soon," he said.
