NATORE, Oct 25 (UNB): At least 20 students of Paikerdole Government Primary School in Sadar Upazila fell ill after taking de-worming tablet on Tuesday.
Of the sick, 15 students were admitted to Sadar hospital while the rest took treatment locally.
School authority said the students took the de-worming tablets as part of a week-long de-worming campaign that has been launched across the country in a bid to get rid of worms in human body.
They felt discomfort in taking the tablet including feeling of vomiting and giddiness.
The mass-illness spread panic among other students of the school and compelled the authority to announce closure of school.
"Though the tablet has a little side effect but there is nothing to be worried," Dr Tulsi Chandra Rai, acting RMO of sadar hospital said.
