Coast Guard personnel have seized a large consignment of Yaba tablets from a trawler in Karnaphuli River in Chittagong district in the wee hours of Sunday. Coast Guard’s Lt Commander Durul Huda said that the trawler was detained from the estuary of Karnaphuli River just past midnight Sunday. ‘The raid was conducted on a tip-off. But the crew of the boat jumped into the river and fled,’ he said. The Yaba tablets were found in an empty oil-container on the boat, said Huda. He said 200,000 tablets were found in 20 packets, according to bdnews24.com.
