2.0b children infected with Hepatitis B a year worldwide

Two billion children are being infected with the Hepatitis B virus around the world every year while one million of them are dying. In Bangladesh 9-12 per cent children are falling victim to the disease.
The disclosures were made at a scientific seminar held at the Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College and Hospital in the city recently.
Presided over by Prof Dr Md Ishtiaque Hossain, the keynote paper was presented by the hospital's Paediatrict Department Associate Professor Dr Moniruzzaman Bhuiyan.
Prof Dr Gazi Abdul Haque, Prof Dr Md Shahin Chowdhury and Prof Dr Md Siddikur Rahman also spoke, among others, on the occasion.
