21 Jamaat-Shibir men held in Khulna

Police arrested 21 Jamaat-Shibir men in Khulna city and different other parts of the district on charge of destructive activities during hartal on Thursday. Of them, Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) picked up two Jamaat-e-Islami activists. They are acting Ameer of South Rupsha thana unit Jamaat Labibul Islam Labib and Islami Chhatra Shibir’s Khanjahan Ali thana unit Assistant Secretary Yasin Molla. DB Inspector of Khulna district police TM Rokonuzzaman said police arrested 19 Jamaat-Shibir men during the hartal hours on Thursday in 9 Upazilas of the district over subversive activities. Of the arrestees, 16 out of 19 are Shibir men, he said adding that they were sent to jail, according to a news agency.
