22 Bangladeshis detained at Benapole

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel detained 22 Bangladesh nationals, including women and children, who were returning from India illegally, on Benapole-Gatipara road in Jessore on Monday night. However, the border force failed to detain any human traffickers. Sub-Inspector of Port Police Station Tajul Islam said suspected human traffickers sent the arrestees to India with the promise of better employment there. They were promised of to be employed in Indian factories and other organisations. BGB members detained them from Benapole-Gatipara road around 11:45pm when they were returning to Bangladesh with the help of traffickers. Later, the BGB officials handed them over to Port Police Station at Benapole, he added, according to a news agency.
