22 Jamaat-Shibir men arrested

Joint forces in separate drives arrested 22 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student front Islami Chhatra Shibir at Shibganj and Sadar upazilas of Chapainawabganj district on Saturday. Police and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) sources said the joint forces conducted a drive at Sadar upazila and arrested 10 Jamaat-Shibir men early Saturday. The joint forces also conducted a drive at Shibganj upazila and picked up a dozen Jamaat-Shibir leaders and workers at dead of night. Bashir Ahmed, superintendent of police, C’nawabganj, said the arrested were fugitive accused in separate cases, according to UNB.
