22 parties collect forms for regn with EC till Sunday

Twenty-two of the country's political parties have collected forms for registration with the Election Commission (EC) till Sunday, reports UNB.brOf them 14 forms were collected Sunday alone by different parties, including PDP of Ferdous Quareshi and Kalyan Party of retired Maj Gen Ibrahim.brThe registration of political parties with the EC under the revised Representation of People Order (RPO) began on August 27. October 15 has been fixed as last date for applying for such registration, which was made mandatory for contesting the general polls.brNo forms were collected on the first day. But Thursday, eight parties had collected registration forms from the EC.brThe parties which procured forms Sunday are Bangladesh Muktijudda Krisak-Shramik Oikya-jote, Bangladesh Khelafat Mojlish (Nuruzzaman), Forward Party, Public Party, Pakmon People’s Party (PPP), Samajik Rajnaitik Andolan, Chetonai Bangali, Bangladesh Kallyan Party, Freedom Party, Progressive Democratic Party (PDP), Jatiya Ganatantrik Party, Jatiya League, National Awami Party (NAP), Bangladesh Communist Party (Maxist-Lenist).brThe eight parties that collected forms Thursday are National People's Party, Islamic Shashantantra Andolan, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish, Independent Gana Andolan, Bangladesh Sachetan Nagorik Moncho, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Jamaat-e-Olama Dol and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dol led by Abdul Malek Ratan.
