225 students to get SFT scholarship

Social Trust Fund (SFT), established by Social Investment Bank Limited (SIBL), announced one time SFT scholarship grant to 225 HSC students of Tk 5,000 each amounting to Tk 1.125 million (11.25 lakh).
The announcement came at the 14th meeting of the fund at a city hotel recently with SIBL founder chairman MA Mannan in the chair, said a press release. 1
Students will be selected by the Trustees from their respective areas in consultation with concerned educational institutions bearing in mind their poverty level subject to achievement of at least GPA-5.
The meeting also took another major decision to establish a specialised university titled 'International University of Islamic Finance and Development' with a flagship programme to produce Chartered Islamic Finance Professionals: Offering Diploma, BBA, MBA, Master's and PhD programmes, designed to give an international perspective as well as to apply for an institutional plot to Rajuk at Uttara in the city.
Eleven Trustees including Major (Retd) Md Rezaul Haque, Sultan Mahmood Chowdhury, Nasiruddin, Nargis Mannan, Md Humayun Kabir Khan, Sk Mohammad Rabban Ali, Munshi Akhtaruzzaman, Johra Alam and Abdul Mohit took part in the meeting.
