23 arrested in Ekram murder case

FENI, May 21: A murder case was filed Wednesday with the Fulgazi police station against 36 people including BNP leader Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury as prime suspect in the killing of upazila chairman and local Awami League president Ekramul Huq Ekram in the town Tuesday morning. Police already arrested 23 people in this connection. The body of late Ekram was buried at his family graveyard in Bandua Daulatpur village under Fulgazi upazila on day after a third Namaz-e-Janaza there. Communications Minister Obaidul Quader, lawmakers elected from Feni district, chairmen of different upazilas and a large number of people attended the Janaza. — BSS
