23 mobile courts operating at city cattle markets

A total of 23 mobile courts have been operation in cattle markets in Dhaka metropolitan areas for the last couple of days since Sept 21 to check setting up of cattle markets on roads, taking additional amount on hasil (charge) and some other irregularities and also ensure security. The mobile courts were deployed in the city on Monday morning. Of the moile courts a total of 7 were deployed at Dhaka North City Corporation, 10 in Dhaka South City Corporation and six mobile courts under the supervision of Dhaka's deputy commissioner have started operating in the DMP areas from Monday. Money escort services will also be provided at the cattle markets. The mobile courts have been entrusted with the task of removing cattle markets from the roads to ease the traffic movement, check collecting additional money on hasil (charge that buyers pay on the price of the purchase) and other irregularities at the cattle markets. They have been asked to maintain a strict vigil on the cattle markets to stop snatching and mugging, according to a news agency.
