233 foreign NGOs in Bangladesh

Prime Minister and Leader of the House Sheikh Hasina Wednesday informed the Jatiya Sangsad that a total of 233 foreign non-government organizations (NGOs) are now working in Bangladesh. "As many as 342 foreigners and 15,815 Bangladeshis are working with these NGOs," she said replying to a tabled question from Jatiya Party lawmaker AKM Maidul Islam. The Leader of the House said there must have an arrangement in the organogram of the organization or in the project approved by the NGO Bureau if any NGO wants to appoint foreign nationals, according to a news agency.
