24 held in Bay on way to Malaysia

Members of Bangladesh Coastguard detained 24 people along with an engine-driven boat from the Bay of Bengal under Sadar upazila of Cox's Bazar district Saturday night, foiling their bid to go to Malaysia through the sea illegally. Acting on a tip-off, a Coastguard team from Cox's Bazar station conducted a drive at 'Nazirertek estuary' at about 10pm and detained the 24, said sources at the Coastguard headquarters. — UNB
