The government has decided to keep CNG filling stations open round-the -clock between October 1 and 11, report agencies.
Road transport minister Obaidul Quader told reporters Thursday that movement of trucks will be regulated on the highways three days before and after Eid-ul-Azha.
"CNG refueling stations will be kept open round the clock from October 1 to 11 on the occasion of upcoming Eid," Quader said after an inter-ministerial meeting.
The minister said movement of goods-carrying trucks, except cattle-laden and essential commodity-carrying ones, on highways will remain restricted three days before Eid and three days after the festival to ensure the smooth travel of home-goers.
He also said cattle markets will not be allowed to be set up on roads and highways to ensure uninterrupted movement of vehicles.
Besides, in the capital, no cattle market will be permitted at Babubazar, Nayabazar, Armanitola and Taltola Bazar this time, he added.
Quader said mobile courts-- led by 10 magistrates-- in the city areas will remain active to check the setting up of cattle markets haphazardly.
