In an effort to smoothen motor traffic during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, CNG filling station will be open round the clock, says Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader.
Filling stations will be open for 24 hours in the ten days between July 10 and 19, he told an inter-ministerial meeting on traffic movement during Eid, bdnews24.com said in a report.
Trucks, covered vans and tanker-lorries will be prohibited from plying on the national and regional highways three days before and after the Eid, said the minister.
Vehicles carrying food commodities, perishable goods, readymade garment, pharmaceutical products, raw hide and fuel, however, will be exempt from the prohibition.
Apart from minister Quader, Tuesday’s meeting was, among others, attended by railways minister, state minister for home, Dhaka North City mayor, and chiefs of police and RAB.
