24 missions fail to achieve July-Mar export target

Twenty-four of the 51 Bangladesh missions abroad have failed to achieve respective export targets for the first three quarters (July-March) of the current fiscal (2013-14). The key Bangladesh missions like Washington, London, Paris, Ottawa and Canberra are those which failed to achieve their July-March export target while some other important missions -- Berlin, Madrid, Rome, The Hague and Stockholm -- have been able to reach their target for the 9-month period. The overall export earnings for the July-March period of the current fiscal amounted to US$ 22,242.66 million against the strategic target of $ 22,066.75 million, having a growth of 0.80 per cent over the strategic target, according to a news agency.
