2.4kg gold seized, 15 held

Members of Airport Armed Police (AAP) recovered 22 gold bars weighing about 2.370 kgs at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Sunday.
Senior ASP Alamgir Hossain of AAP said they recovered the gold searching the bodies of 15 passengers coming from Saudi Arabia.
He said the 15 passengers landed at the airport by two flights -– one of Saudi Arabia Airlines at about 1pm and the other of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at about 4pm, according to a news agency.
AAP members searched the 15 passengers on suspicion in between 3pm and 5pm when they came out from the customs lounge through the green channel without paying taxes, said ASP Alamgir.
After the search, 22 gold bars were recovered from their possession.
