25 injured in nor'wester

THAKURGAON, Jun 4 (UNB): 25 people were injured when a severe nor'wester tore through eight villages in Baliadanga Upazila Thursday.
Of the injured, 16 were rushed to the local health complex.
Around 700 thatched houses were also razed to the ground during the storm.
Sources said, 10 educational institutions were damaged and many electric poles twisted, disrupting power supply. They said that the storm caused extensive damage to standing boro crops, mangoes and lychies.
The worst affected villages are Dhonibasti, Mistiripara, Phultala, Dousou, Ziakhor, Kalomegh, Mohishmari, and Rupganj.
