250 peace-keepers get UN medals

Some 250 peace-keepers of Bangladesh Police, engaged in peace-keeping in Ivory Coast, have been awarded with the United Nations (UN) Peacekeeping Medal, according to a message received in the city Thursday. Divisional Police Commissioner of UN Police (UNPOL) Well A Moute formally handed over the medals at the headquarters at Bouake in Ivory Coast. Visiting Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) Noor Mohammad was also present on the occasion. The IGP also visited the UN Peace Keeping Mission in Liberia, and also attended a medal distribution ceremony there. —UNB
