250 RMG workers fall sick taking tiffin

Over 250 workers of a garment factory fell sick after taking Tiffin provided by the factory in Gazipur city on Monday night. Locals said the workers of sweater factory ‘Best Wool’ situated at Zarun in the city started vomiting and they went into convulsion after taking the Tiffin around 8:30 pm. The sick RMG workers were admitted to different hospitals and clinics. Dr KM Sharif, a doctor at the city’s Sharif Medical, said some 120 workers took treatment at their hospital. Asked about the reason behind their illness, he attributed it to food poisoning. Despite repeated attempts, factory authorities could not be contacted to have their version over the incident, according to a news agency.
