2,500 phone lines disconnected

Nearly 2,500 telephone lines of Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) under Sher- e-Banglanagar exchange have been disconnected due to snapping of its underground cable in city's Asad Gate. BTCL clients of Lalmatia, Asad Avenue, Iqbal Road, Sir Syed Road, Tajmahal Road, Salimullah Road and adjoining areas have been out of connection, as the underground cable was snapped during the development work of Dhaka WASA, said a BTCL press release Wednesday. — BSS
