26 BD missions abroad fail to achieve export targets in FY14

Twenty-six of the 52 Bangladesh missions abroad failed to achieve their respective export targets in the last fiscal year (2013-2014). The key Bangladesh missions like those in Washington, London, Paris, Ottawa, Tokyo and Canberra failed to achieve their export targets in FY14 while some other important missions – Berlin, Madrid, Rome, The Hague and Stockholm – reached their targets for the fiscal that ended on June 30, 2014. The overall export earnings for the last fiscal amounted to US $ 30,176.80 million against the strategic target of $ 30,500m, showing a negative growth of 1.06 per cent over the strategic target, according to UNB.
