26 injured in picnic bus accident

At least 26 people, including several Dhaka University students, were injured when a picnic bus carrying them collided with a truck at Ashulia under Savar upazila, police have said. The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Aricha highway’s Beltola area on Friday morning, Ashulia police station OC Sheikh Badrul Alam said. Dhaka University’s Proctor Amzad Ali said members of three Tripura students’ association, accompanied by several DU students, were out for a picnic. He identified the organisations as Bangladesh-Tripura Kalyan Trust, Tripura Students Forum, and Barak Education Support Trust. Most of the injured received treatment at local Ganasasthya Kendra but three had been sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, according to bdnews24.com.
