27 alleged Rajakars sued in Khulna

KHULNA, Apr 24 (UNB): Nineteen alleged Rajakars were sued in two separate cases Wednesday for their involvement in killing two people, including a freedom fighter, in Batiaghata Upazila during the Liberation War in 1971.
The court also ordered the officer-in-charge (OC) of the respective police stations to submit a report after proper investigation into the allegations for recording the cases.
Captain (retd) Mohammad Afzal Hossain filed the case with the court of senior judicial magistrate Rozina Akhter against 13 'Rajakars'.
The accused are Nazrul Joarder, Abdul Jabbar Sheikh, Hemayet Hossain, Ohid Joarder, Atiar Rahman, Musa Fakir, Modasser Mollah, Nur Ali Biswas, Ashraf Ali Sheikh, Mozaher Ali Sheikh, Nazrul Sheikh, Amjad Howlader and Saeed Sheikh.
The complainant in his petition said the accused gunned down freedom fighter Haridas Majumder during the Liberation War in 1971.
The other petition case was filed by Moslem Sheikh of the same upazila accusing six 'Rajakars'.
The accused are Makbul Mallick, Motasin Sheikh, Musa Behara, Shahadat Biswas, Khokon Howlader and Enam Fakir.
The complainant said the accused shot dead his friend Khair Sheikh at Phulbari Rajakar camp on the night of August 19 in 1971.
Meanwhile, another case was filed against eight alleged Rajakars in the metropolitan area for war crimes. Ruhul Amin of Rayermahal in the city filed the case with the Metropolitan Magistrate Court on the same day.
