A paramilitary court in Khulna Tuesday awarded rigorous imprisonments ranging from four months to seven years to 27 rebel soldiers of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR), now renamed as Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), on mutiny charges. The Special Court-12 of BGB headed by Colonel M Ehia Azam Khan pronounced the verdict trying the accused under the BDR Act at a makeshift courtroom at sector headquarters of the frontier force. After hearing for five working days and examining prosecution of 20 witnesses the Special Court-12 of BGB pronounced the verdict. The court also fined each of the convicts Tk 100 as it found them guilty of charges of February 25-26, 2009 mutiny. - Our Correspondent
