27 held in Benapole for going to India illegally

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel arrested 27 people while they were attempting to enter India without valid documents through Benapole border at Sarsa Upazila in Jessore on Friday night. Being tipped off, a BGB patrol team conducted a drive at Putkhali border point and arrested them around 7:45pm. The arrestees include 18 men, five women and four children – all hailing from different parts of Khulna, Bagerhat, Satkhira, Jhenidah and Narail districts. Later, the BGB men handed over them to Benapole Port Police Station. A case was filed, according to UNB.
