28 more Indian fishermen held in Bay

BAGERHAT, Oct 31: Members of Bangladesh Navy in a drive arrested 28 more Indian fishermen in the Fairway Buoy area of the Bay of Bengal under Mongla upazila on Thursday for trespassing into the Bangladesh waters. Sub-inspector of Mongla Police Station M Manjur Elahi said the Navy members detained the Indian fishermen aboard two trawlers, namely 'FB Dakkhineswar' and 'FB Joy Hanuaman' while fishing in the area, about 150 nautical miles away from the Mongla port. The detainees, hailing from different areas in 24 Parganas district of Paschimbanga, were handed over to the Mongla police on Friday and a case was lodged against them.
