283 allotted Rajuk plots in different categories

Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) Wednesday allotted another 283 residential plots, including 60 for journalists, among applicants under its Uttara Model Town (3rd Phase) and Purbachal New Town projects.
The computerised lottery draw was held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital with the help of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
In the third phase draw of Purbachal project, situated in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj district and Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur district, 55 journalists won residential plots.
The city development authorities picked 2,275 as plot-winners through computerised draw in two phases, held on September 17 and October 10, under the project.
With this draw, plot allocation in eight categories of the new satellite town project is complete now, Rajuk officials said.
However, allocation of plots in ministers, MPs and defence forces personnel and government officials categories is still to be completed.
Plots among civil servants will be awarded on the basis of their service age, experience and salary scale, State Minister for Housing Abdul Mannan Khan said during the draw.
Officials said winners for the rest of the plots in Purbachal project would be selected on November 15 from the applicants in four remaining categories.
Another 55 plots reserved for journalists in Purbachal would be allotted in consultation with senior figures in the profession, the state minister said.
Meanwhile, some 228 applicants won plots under the Uttara Project, which is situated on the western side of the Uttara Model Town (2nd Phase) Project.
Of them, five were allotted plots in journalists category, 10 in justices category, 57 in private-job holders category, 45 in businessmen and industrialists category, 10 in others (lawyers) category, 28 in freedom fighters category, 16 in artistes-writers-sportspersons category and 57 in foreign currency earners category.
