29 Bangladeshis held along Benapole port

JESSORE, Apr 19: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 29 Bangladeshis including 15 women, 13 men and a child while they were being trafficked to India by human traffickers Friday night. The raid was made at Charer Math along Putkhali frontier under Benapole port police station.
Farid Uddin, Putkhali in-charge, Border Guard Bangladesh told journalists that on being tipped off the BGB men arrested the 29 while they were being sent to India at night. Sensing the presence of BGB men the traffickers fled the scene, he added. The rescued hailed from Jessore, Khulna, Bagerhat, Satkhira, Narail and Gopalgonj, the BGB said.
