29 held over drug sale in city

As part of the anti-drugs drives in the capital, members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a total of 29 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the last 24 hours until 6:00am on Friday, reports BSS.
According to a release issued by the DMP, police conducted these operations against the drugs sellers and consumers in different areas under various police stations of the metropolis.
During the anti-drugs raids, police seized 20,685 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 98 grams of heroin and 3.700 kilograms of cannabis (ganja) and 100 bottles of phensidyl syrup from their possessions, the release said.
