Sunday, 25 January 2026
The 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Power Grid Bangladesh PLC was held at the auditorium of Power Grid's head office in Dhaka via a hybrid platform on Saturday.
The AGM was attended by the company's directors, shareholders, representatives from the Power Division and the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), as well as Power Grid officials and employees. Additionally, many shareholders joined the meeting via the online platform, says a press release.
Dr. M. Rezwan Khan, Chairman of the company, presided over the meeting. Managing Director Abdur Rashid Khan delivered a multimedia presentation on the company's activities for the 2024-25 fiscal year, while Company Secretary Md. Jahangir Azad moderated the session.
The meeting discussed that although the company maintained strong operational activities during the 2024-25 fiscal year, it incurred a post-tax loss of Tk 2.10 billion. This was primarily due to the increased costs of repaying foreign currency loans taken for development projects, specifically resulting in a Foreign Exchange Loss.
Furthermore, as the undistributed accumulated profit remained negative, it was not possible to declare any dividends this year in accordance with the Companies Act.
