2kg gold seized at Shah Amanat

Customs officials on Tuesday seized gold ornaments weighing two kilograms (kg) from a passenger’s handbag at Hazrat Shah Amanat (RA) International Airport in Patenga of Chittagong. The passenger, Monwara Begum, 45, returned from Dubai on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight in the morning. The gold was worth Tk 8 million, Assistant Customs Commissioner Moshiur Rahman Mondol said. The passenger will be prosecuted, he said, according to a news agency.
